Chris Schuetze (BSc, MRes Science of the Environment): Managing Director and Technical
Chris Schuetze worked as a Technology Transfer Executive at Imperial College Innovations from 1999 to 2002 helping to commercialise biomedical innovations and she also coordinated a programme between Imperial College, Kings College and UCL seeking to identify technologies with environmental applications. She then became Intellectual Property Manager at pharmaceutical R&D company Arrow Therapeutics Ltd where she also worked in business development. From 2005, she moved into renewable technologies by training and qualifying as a heating engineer. She has worked on numerous heating projects in London including several solar thermal installations. She has been working for Helianth full-time since October 2009.Chris holds a BSc and MRes (Science of the Environment) from Lancaster University and is currently completing a BEng in Building Services Engineering.
Catherine Kelly (BA, MBA in Technology Management): Non-Exec Director Business Development
Catherine Kelly has worked in competitive intelligence, information management and research roles in private equity, investment banking and management consultancy for over 20 years. Former employers include J. P. Morgan Chase (Research Associate within the Telecoms, Media and Technology team, Investment Banking division), Deutsche Bank and Bain & Co Inc. (strategic management consultancy). She also worked as a researcher on a EU funded technology transfer programme at Enterprise Ireland. From 2004 to 2012, Catherine was a senior lecturer in information and knowledge management, incorporating business consulting activities, within the Media, Information and Communications area at London Metropolitan University and also went on to develop a new MSc programme in Social Enterprise Management and Development. She holds an MBA in Technology Management and is currently studying for a PhD at Roehampton University Business School (4 year part time scholarship) focusing on knowledge sharing in group contexts.
Donna Hackett (BSc, DMS): Non-Exec Director Business Development and Legal
Donna Hackett is a seasoned business development professional with over 20 years experience in commercialising technology through partnering and start-up activity. She is both scientifically and legally qualified as a non-practising barrister. Beginning her career at BTG, a world leader in the commercialisation of novel technologies, she moved to University College London to become head of the life science arm of UCL Ventures, the technology licensing and start-up company, before joining ProPharma Partners, the multi-national business and clinical development consultancy. During this time her work has involved in and out partnering of early and late stage products, securing investment for start-up companies, business strategy and legal, commercial and intellectual property due diligence on potential start-up activity, product and company acquisitions for academic institutions, companies and potential investors.Her deals have varied from small biotech to large pharmaceutical companies in Europe, Japan and USA, and she was a board member of BioVex and FreeMedic, the technology transfer company of The Royal Free Medical School. Donna joined Stabilitech on 1 February 2011 as Commercial Director. Stabilitech is a privately held company focused on stabilisation of sensitive biological molecules, such as vaccines and biopharmaceuticals.
